Further into Airtight 2023, and after the generously received French deep house of Soultask, next up is a lavishly furnished slab of Eastern European space disco from Nikita. ' Navigator' layers luxuriant synths and warm melodies over an insistent, schaffelly bassline, before floating off into a middle eight from which it never actually returns, musically speaking. If you look hard enough, it's still up there somewhere, a few thousand light years away, like the afterlife of a star burning in the... (enough of this analogy - editor).
Second track 'Silk Boat' starts off working around a chrome plated electro disco riff before slowly stripping down to airy bass, pulsing drums and hedonistic textures.
