        <biography>Snorkel were formed ten years ago by multi–instrumentalist Frank Byng, and have quietly but determinedly trodden the path of Kraut and Free Jazz inspired improvisation ever since, with their residency at the Adelaide pub in North London the stuff of legends, and their recent album on the Slowfoot label, Glass Darkly warmly received by everyone from Pitchfork to Boomkat.
Here, the opening track of the album appears on the longstanding Airtight label in an extended and remastered form, 8mins of organic hypno-funk that could have come straightoutta Dusseldorf in 74', with mantra chants, tape effects and loose rhythms swirling around the raw groove to create something fit for headphones and more adventurous dancefloors alike.
On the flipside, Italian space commandoes the Diaphanoids take to the controls and conjure up a slo-mo disco-kosmiche chugger, complete with laser driven riffs and a fat, chugging bassline.
Definitely one for the heads, but as the tempos slow down and the genre boundaries continue to blur, there’s here for disco freaks, kosmic kommandoes and Kraut heads alike.

<biography>Since it's initial release in July 2003, Solaris heights 'Midnight' has
never really gone away. Whilst dancefloor fashions have , as always, come
and gone, Midnight's P funk / electronic boogie infused bass groove, crisp
rhythms and simple but memorable male vocal lines have found there way into
everything from Deep House Sets, to warm ups at Secret Sundaze, sunset sets
in Ibeefa, innumerable mix albums, and the odd doggy bootleg.<br />
<br />
So it was only right that this underground bomb got another airing, and we
could think of no one better for a remix than Padded Cell. With ex Bronx Dog
Richard Sen at the helm, the Cell have recorded a couple of storming
releases for the incomparable DC imprint, and now they combine their
Krautrock influenced electronic disco with fragments of the original vocal
to create a shimmering, psychedelic dancefloor stormer, that ebbs and flows
and goes off at tangents whilst never taking its eyes off the prize.</biography>

<biography>Having had two releases on Classic, two on Airtight and one on Cuba so far this year, and with a whole host of material coming out on everyone from Get Physical to Skint to MFF over the next few months, it would be fair to say that its been a busy year for Swedish house boys, aka Zoo Brazil / Wiggs / Laid.<br />
 <br />
Which is why we're particularly pleased to have landed three spanking tracks for an all new Airtight EP, tracks that show the wide range of the production styles on offer from the lads. 'Streetwalk' is a gorgeous, lush, electronic deep houser that reminds us of Trentemoller, Larry Heard and lots of other things we love, 'Strive' tips a nod to Todd Terry's mix of Royal House's 'Can U Party', and is all good, whilst the B-side, sees the boys flexing their jack muscles with a 7 minute tough houser custom built for sweaty dance floors. More power to the Zoo boys. </biography>

<biography>Solaris Heights' previous release on Airtight was the much-lauded p-funk-tweaked house nugget, 'Midnight' - a track which gained a rather staggering amount of support from a variety of DJs right across the board ranging from Rocky and Halo &#x0026; Hipp-e (who found a home for the track on their recently released mix albums, 'Faith vol. 2' and 'Fabric 07' respectively) to progsters Satoshi Tomiie, Sander Kleinenberg, Cass and more. <br />
 <br />
'Sunlight' is Bryan J Robson, Lewis Phillimore and Keith Robson's follow-up cut; a silky house number featuring vocals from Cheb that weaves the same lush magic as 'Midnight' - albeit in a more organic way - while Nova Scotia (aka Bryan J Robson) brings the quirky, p-funk hybrid styles on the flip with his Dark Chocolate mix. Bryan's recent works under the Nova Scotia tag have drawn critical comparisons with Metro Area's productions and this remix helps to reinforce those statements as he combines contemporary bleeps and bobs with a jackin' p-funk/ house vibe.</biography>

<biography>Airtight takes a trip to Chicago for its next release, 'Give Chase' b/w 'Mise En Place (Remix)' by Mazi and Nathan Larsen.<Br />
<Br />
The work of Mazi Namvar and Nathan Drew Larsen should come as no surprise to staunch supporters of Airtight as the two Chi-Town-dwelling members of the Gourmet crew have flexed their musical muscles for the label on many occasions - namely on Nathan's beautiful 'Standing Still' cut (which featured mixes from Mazi as Audio Soul Project) and on Mazi's heavy remix of the seminal 'Mushrooms'.<Br />
<Br />
The pair get together here to provide two deep, techy, clicky tracks with 'Give Chase' on the A bringing together solid, swingy Mazi beats and a subtle, soulful vocal on the breakdown all underpinned by big, warm bass sounds while 'Mise En Place (Remix)' hands the emphasis over to Larsen whose shuffly beats and jerky click rhythms make for something very deep and special.<Br />

        <biography>Up next on Airtight, Raft's 'Risky Trains'/ 'Microcosmos' on the flip. Two man Belgium-based production team, Raft (known separately as James Lehmann and Matthias Locker) provide the dreamy deep house sounds on their subtly uplifting double-track 12''. <br />
<br />
From the trickling water FX at the top of the track to the steady introduction of the light hook and sweeping pads,'Risky Trains' progresses steadily leading into a New Order-esque male vocal which floats gently over the backing, tying the bassline and melody together perfectly. Over on the B, 'Microcosmos' continues the deeper vibe with cool pads underpinning gently filtered chords and a smooth spoken word vocal before breaking down into techier dubbier percussive sounds.<br />

The second two-track release from Sharam on Airtight follows the deep and funky path of his previous works ('Deeper' and 'Shaka') with A side track, 'Play It Loud' working ass-shaking percussion under and around Sharam's well-timed edits and funky twisted bassline while 'Take Control' over on the flip kicks off with running percussion allowing a lively string riff to filter in as the low, rolling bassline pulls the track together.</biography>

        <biography>Airtight is proud to present its second release from 'New Phunk Theory' a.k.a Scott Bradford and Chris Scott, teaming up on this occasion with vocalist Mary Awere. Scott, a stalwart of the Newcastle party scene, has been resident at Shindig since its launch 10 years ago and alongside his 'New Phunk' partner and Forensic in-house producer Chris, the pair have been making top records for aeons for the likes of Jus Trax, Paper, Yoshitoshi, Shindig, Forensic and Saw alongside their first release on Airtight, 'Always' which gained much respect from DJs across the board. Here fellow geordie and top producer Bryan Robson (Nova Scotia/Streetlife Originals) provides the A side mix. This funked up, broken beats interpretation should see support from those who like their house bumpin', deep and soulful while on the flip Airtight newcomer Illinton provides a phatter, dubbier 4/4 version which picks up the mantle from his well-received Nova Scotia remix of last year.</biography>
